Some Products Are Recalls

There are products made for babies that are good and some that are not good. Of those that are not good, there are recalls, but those that are good are bought and used immediately. They get great reviews and are sold everywhere. Everyone who wants one buys one and even some that don't want them also buy them. When a product is on the market and is considered to be of the highest quality, it sells quickly and no one can keep it on the shelves. How is it that word of these new things manage to get around?

This is the magic of the modern age. The internet is a tool and a monster, spreading words of just about everything from malicious gossip to the latest recipe for goulash. Baby products are no exception to this and they are more susceptible to criticism than other products. Since they are going in to the hands of our babies and children, the quality control is much higher. At least now it is.

In the 1950s, when toys were made differently, parents gave their kids things to play with that parents today would be horrified about. Lead based toys and metal doll houses. Where was the quality control back then? Did people turn out differently as a result? I think the level of quality control has not gone down in the years since the 1950s, I think people's fear has gone up. One baby chokes to death on a toy, and another puts his head in a plastic bag and suffocates. Angry parents sue the companies and now there are no toys that are small enough to choke on and all plastic bags have been recalled. It is these kinds of kneejerk reactions that cause people to not trust each other.

Most companies are not out to kill babies and children. They are trying to put an honest product on the market to make money. There are unscrupulous people who find the smallest of flaws in the toy and cause a big stink over it. These are regular everyday toys that no one had a problem with until someone pointed out that they had lead paint on it. Massive recalls ensue. What is going on here? Why do people do this? Do they have nothing else to do?

The point is here to make a product that everybody likes and no one can find fault with. That way there are no recalls and no dead babies. Everybody's happy.
